CHARLEY’S INTRODUCES NEW SMOKED PRODUCTS LINE
Uncle
Charley’s Sausage Company has introduced a new comprehensive
line of smoked products that is now widely available at
supermarkets throughout the Pittsburgh region and parts
of Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio. These include Sliced
Bacon, Pepper Bacon, Rindless Slab Bacon, Ham Cube, Boneless
Quarter Hams, Boneless Half Hams, Boneless Ham Slices and
seven other smoked products. These premium products are
slow-smoked over real hickory chips to create a natural
flavor. Uncle Charley’s new smoked line complements
the company’s existing pork sausages that have become
the choice of area consumers.
“Our new smoked products line gives area consumers,
who love the taste of Uncle Charley’s sausage, a much
greater selection,” said company President Charles
S. Armitage. “We select the highest quality cuts of
pork, which are then seasoned with premium spices and smoked

Consumers
love the taste of Uncle Charley's Sausage products, made
from recipes using a unique blend of quality pork, vegetables
and spices. In response to a growing demand for its products,
the Company has introduced its own brand of Gourmet Red
Sauce: Uncle Charley's Pepper & Onions with Tomato Sauce.
The sauce is available in Sweet and Hot flavors.

made with our proprietary recipes. Our new Gourmet Red Sauce
is a natural line extension and one that we will expand
upon in the future."
Uncle Charley's Pepper & Onions with
tomato sauce is available in the meat departments of supermarkets,
such as select Giant Eagles, Shop 'N Save, IGA and Foodland.
The suggested retail price for a 16 oz. (1 lb.) 453 gram
jar is $2.39. On the back of each label are Uncle Charley's
recipes for Open-Face Pepper-Steak Sandwich and Italian
Pepper and Sausage Sandwich.
"There's enough Gourmet Red Sauce
to use on five of our Grillers in a standard package,"
Armitage said. "The sauce is also delicious with all
varieties of meats, hamburgers and sausages."
Pepper & Onions with tomato sauce
contains no cholesterol or added sugars. Ingredients include:
Green Sweet Peppers, Onions, Tomato Sauce (Water, Tomato
Paste [Vine Ripe Red Tomatoes, Citric Acid]), Vinegar, Soybean
Oil, Salt and Spices.

First 'Heat & Eat' Sausage--
Uncle
Charley's Sausage Company has introduced Cooked Hot Italian
Sausage in Sauce with Onions and Peppers, the company's
first pre-cooked dish for supermarkets, convenience stores
and food service. Consumers can simply thaw the sausage
in the aluminum tray and roast for 15 to 20 minutes or heat
on a grill.
"Our new Cooked Hot Italian Sausage
is ideal for restaurants, bars and other food service providers
to quickly and conveniently serve delicious sausage sandwiches
or even as entrées," Company President Charles
S. Armitage said. "These 'heat & eat' sausages
are great for parties during the football season."
Uncle Charley's Cooked Hot Italian Sausage,
available in the freezer section, are packed 12 links per
5 lb. tray, and 4 trays per box.
Playing key roles in the distinctive taste
of Uncle Charley's sausage products are the use of natural
casings, a unique blend of quality spices and the use of
lower fat pork. Uncle Charley's pork, purchased from quality
suppliers who meet Uncle Charley's strict specifications,
are on average 80 percent lean, which exceeds USDA standards
for leanness by 35 to 45 percent.
